Sandvik's unit in Svedala is a world-leading supplier and a global development center for stone crushers used in the mining industry, quarries and construction operations. Sandvik SRP in Svedala has manufactured equipment for the mining industry since the 1950s. The road to a world-leading position has always been built on high quality, but also on good profitability, which makes it possible to continue to stay at the forefront.
The problem
The existing OEE measurement did not provide the flexibility required by the improvement work
Sandvik SRP has long worked in a structured way with Lean and with efficiency measurement at the machine level. At the same time, OEE measurement was closely tied to specific processing machines. In some cases, it also relied on pen-and-paper reporting.
When machines were upgraded or replaced, it became difficult to maintain consistent measurement of production efficiency. To produce facts for daily management and create better impact in improvement work, Sandvik needed a flexible and easy-to-use digital solution.
After evaluating several different options, Sandvik chose to start working with Good Solutions.

Sandvik can now identify real bottlenecks throughout the entire factory. This has made it possible to increase net production by up to 15% in certain production sections, without increasing machine time or labor costs.
At the same time, the team sees great potential for further improvements and higher efficiency going forward. By using facts from Good Solutions platform as decision support in daily management and improvement work, Sandvik has been able to increase and maintain efficiency over time.
This has made it possible to utilize production capacity to the fullest and avoid investments in new machines.
