Workshop & Machining

Sibbhultsverken has long delivered advanced processing and high precision to the automotive industry. In a highly competitive market, it is important to continuously deliver more value and use fewer resources.
With a streamlined team and ambitious OEE goals, they turned to Good Solutions when traditional methods using paper, pen, and spreadsheets were no longer sufficient.
The problem
From paper and gut feeling to facts and focus
For a long time, production relied on manual routines, and “the loudest voice” got the attention.
Stops were sometimes recorded, but no one really knew why they occurred. Decisions were often based on who shouted the loudest, and improvement work lacked the facts needed to prioritize correctly.
For new employees, the onboarding period was long – sometimes it took three months before an operator could work independently.
Despite ambitious OEE targets of 80%, many production cells did not reach them. Management realized that old ways of working were no longer sufficient.

The solution
A digital working method that makes it easy to do the right thing
When Sibbhultsverken took the step to Good Solutions platform, the team got a standardised digital way of working where checklists and reminders made it easy to do the right thing, helping new operators work independently 30% faster.
Alma Berhane, Production Manager, says:
“Because everything was already in the platform - checklists, documents, and controls - I dared to put three new operators in the same cell. And it worked. They became independent much faster than before.”
Operators were invited to monthly meetings to improve downtime coding and suggest their own solutions. Technicians and maintenance staff could, for the first time, analyse problems in depth, while management received clear reports to base decisions on facts.
Pontus Fransson, Production Engineer, continues:
“We went from gut feelings and Excel sheets that never quite worked, to finally having facts. Scrap and quality losses are lower, stops are fewer, and availability is higher than we thought possible.”
Thanks to careful preparation and support from Good Solutions' delivery and support consultation in Swedish, trust was built quickly. When the first cell was up and running, it became much easier to roll out the next one by, for example, standardising names, colours, and menus.
Jesper Wärvik, Production Manager, concludes:
“With such a lean organisation, efficiency is the only way to be profitable. In the past, the loudest problems always got attention. Now we use facts to solve the most important issues - and that has the greatest impact.”

The result
Higher productivity and lower costs
Within 12 months, Sibbhultsverken saw major improvements in the cells where Good Solutions' platform was introduced and is used daily.
In one production cell, the team increased OEE by 19.4%, and in another by 40%.
Technical stops have decreased by 73%, unplanned stops by 63%, and scrap and quality defect costs have been reduced by 30%.
At the same time, production volumes increased by 15% without additional machines or shifts, and training time for new operators was reduced by 30%. Operator engagement has increased, and Good Solutions platform is requested from all production cells.
The results have strengthened the belief that Good Solutions' platform is an important complement to their business system. The next step is to connect the platform to the maintenance system – to continue the journey toward even higher profitability.
